WHEREAS,
Senator
Thomas
A.
Greene
was
first
elected

to
the
Senate
in
2016
to
represent
District
44,
which

includes
the
city
of
Burlington
and
portions
of
Des
5
Moines,
Louisa,
and
Muscatine
counties;
and
6
WHEREAS,
Senator
Greene
was
born
and
raised
in
7
Burlington,
and
graduated
from
Drake
University
with
a
8
bachelor
of
science
in
pharmacy
in
1973;
and
9
WHEREAS,
Senator
Greene’s
professional
career
10
in
southeast
Iowa
has
included
40-plus
years
as
a
11
pharmacist,
as
well
as
public
service
as
chairman
of
12
the
Burlington
Community
School
District,
member
of
13
the
Des
Moines
County
Board
of
Health,
and
trustee
for
14
Concordia
Township;
and
15
WHEREAS,
Senator
Greene’s
tenure
in
the
General
16
Assembly
included
membership
on
the
Appropriations,
17
Human
Resources,
and
Local
Government
(Vice
18
Chairperson),
and
Transportation
standing
committees;
19
the
Economic
Development
Appropriations
Subcommittee
20
(Vice
Chairperson);
and
the
Opioid
Epidemic
Evaluation
21
Study
Committee,
the
Center
for
Rural
Health
and
22
Primary
Care
Advisory
Committee,
and
the
Medical
23
Assistance
Advisory
Council;
and
24
WHEREAS,
Senator
Greene’s
legislative
career
has
25
been
exemplified
by
his
support
for
efforts
to
improve
26
the
economies
of
his
district
and
of
the
entire
state,

vigilant
oversight
of
taxpayer
dollars,
and
expansion
