Eugene
S.
“Gene”
Fraise
began
his
political

career
on
the
Lee
County
Board
of
Supervisors,
coming

to
the
Senate
by
special
election
in
1986;
and

WHEREAS,
over
two
decades
later
Senator
Fraise
was
6
elected
in
2008
to
his
eighth
term
in
the
Iowa
Senate,
7
representing
Senate
District
46,
which
includes
Henry
8
and
Lee
counties;
and
9
WHEREAS,
Senator
Fraise
currently
serves
on
a
10
variety
of
committees,
as
Chair
of
the
Judiciary
11
Committee,
Vice
Chair
of
both
the
Appropriations
and
12
Ethics
Committees,
and
as
a
member
of
the
Agriculture,
13
Labor
and
Business
Relations,
and
State
Government
14
Committees,
and
of
the
Justice
System
Appropriations

Subcommittee;
and

WHEREAS,
Senator
Fraise
also
serves
on
the
Criminal

and
Juvenile
Justice
Planning
Advisory
Council,
the

Interstate

for
Adult
Offender
Supervision
State

the

Safety
Advisory
Board;
and

WHEREAS,
in
over
a
quarter
century
of
service

Senator
Fraise
has
also
chaired
the
Agriculture

and
has
served
on
the
Local
Government

Natural

and
Environment

Committee,
the
Transportation
Committee
(Vice-Chair),

Iowa

on
