EXCEPTION.
Notwithstanding
sections
277.27,
279.7A,
and
3
298A.15,
for
the
fiscal
year
beginning
July
1,
2020,
and
ending
4
June
30,
2021,
a
member
of
the
board
of
directors
of
a
school
5
corporation
may
receive
compensation
that
exceeds
six
thousand
6
dollars
in
the
fiscal
year
beginning
July
1,
2020,
and
ending
7
June
30,
2021,
for
employment
with
the
school
corporation
as
a
8
substitute
teacher
licensed
or
authorized
under
chapter
272,
a
9
food
service
worker,
or
school
bus
driver.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
immediate
11
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
14
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
allows
a
member
of
the
board
of
directors
of
a
16
school
corporation
(school
district)
to
receive
compensation
17
that
exceeds
$6,000
for
employment
as
a
substitute
teacher,
18
a
food
service
worker,
or
a
school
bus
driver
for
the
school
19
corporation
in
the
2020-2021
fiscal
year.
20
A
school
district
is
a
school
corporation
organized
under
21
Code
chapter
274.
22
The
bill
takes
effect
upon
enactment.
