| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4345

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4345 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by | ||||||
| 5 | adding Section 148 as follows:

| 6 | (5 ILCS 490/148 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 148. First Responder Mental Health Awareness Day. The | ||||||
| 8 | third Friday in May of each year is designated as First | ||||||
| 9 | Responder Mental Health Awareness Day, to be observed | ||||||
| 10 | throughout the State as a day to honor firefighters, police | ||||||
| 11 | officers, and other first responders who have lost their lives | ||||||
| 12 | due to and suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, | ||||||
| 13 | depression, and other mental health issues.".
