AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4715
AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4715, AS AMENDED,
with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No.
1, on page 2, line 18, after "Practice of" by inserting
"registered"; and
on page 3, line 1, after "Practice of" by inserting
"registered"; and
on page 3, by replacing lines 2 through 4 with the following:
"(1) The practice of structural engineering as defined
in the Structural Engineering Practice Act of 1989, the
practice of professional engineering as defined in the
Professional Engineering Practice Act of 1989, or the
practice of land surveying as defined in the Professional
Land Surveyor Act of 1989.
(2) Services that constitute the practice of
architecture as defined in the Illinois Architecture

Practice Act of 1989, except as provided in this Act.";
and
on page 3, line 5, by replacing "(2)" with "(3)"; and
on page 3, line 8, by replacing "(3)" with "(4)"; and
on page 3, line 15, by replacing "(4)" with "(5)"; and
on page 3, line 19, by replacing "(5)" with "(6)"; and
on page 3, line 21, by replacing "(6)" with "(7)"; and
on page 3, line 26, by replacing "(7)" with "(8)"; and
on page 4, line 2, by replacing "(8)" with "(9)"; and
on page 7, line 9, by deleting ", except as specifically
provided for in Section 3"; and
on page 8, by replacing lines 1 through 9 with the following:
"(h) Nothing in this Act shall authorize registered
interior designers to perform services, including life safety
services that they are prohibited from performing, or any
practice: (i) that is restricted in the Professional
Engineering Practice Act of 1989, the Professional Land

Surveyor Act of 1989, or the Structural Engineering Practice
Act of 1989; (ii) that is restricted in the Illinois
Architecture Practice Act of 1989, except as provided in this
Act; or (iii) that they are not authorized to perform under the
Environmental Barriers Act, except as provided in this Act.
Nothing in this Act shall authorize registered interior
designers to perform services, including life safety services
that they are prohibited from performing, or any practice (i)
that is restricted in the Illinois Architecture Practice Act
of 1989, the Professional Engineering Practice Act of 1989, or
the Structural Engineering Practice Act of 1989, or (ii) that
they are not authorized to perform under the Environmental
Barriers Act."; and
on page 9, line 16, after "partnership,", by adding "or"; and
on page 9, lines 17 through 18, by deleting ", or professional
design firm registered under this Act"; and
on page 9, lines 18 through 19, by deleting "and design firm
registration number"; and
on page 10, line 16, after "engineering" by inserting ",
structural engineering, or land surveying"; and
on page 10, line 20, after "engineer" by inserting ", licensed
