AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 187
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 187, AS AMENDED, by
3replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
4following:
5 "Section 5. The Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Act is
6amended by adding Section 8 as follows:
7 (410 ILCS 405/8 new)
8 Sec. 8. Public outreach and training. Subject to
9appropriation, the Department shall develop and implement a
10coordinated public outreach and training strategy in the State
11by December 31, 2019. At a minimum, the strategy shall include:
12 (1) The development of informational materials. After
13 consultation with the ADA Advisory Committee, the
14 Department on Aging, the Department of Healthcare and
15 Family Services, and the Department of Human Services, the
16 Department shall develop the written informational

1 materials relating to the available services for
2 individuals, regardless of age, with Alzheimer's disease
3 and related dementia disorders. At a minimum, the
4 informational materials shall include:
5 (A) how to identify Alzheimer's disease and
6 related dementia disorders;
7 (B) how and where to access services for
8 individuals under programs administered by State
9 agencies;
10 (C) how and where to obtain support for caregivers
11 of individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or
12 related dementia disorders;
13 (D) how and where to obtain training resources for
14 caregivers;
15 (E) how to communicate with and support
16 individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and
17 related dementia disorders;
18 (F) how and where to obtain informational
19 materials and training resources for health care
20 providers and service agencies; and
21 (G) a website link to the stand-alone webpage
22 developed under paragraph (2) of this Section. The
23 written materials shall be shared with relevant health
24 care providers and service agencies, including, but
25 not limited to, hospitals, doctors, Federally
26 Qualified Health Centers, area agencies on aging, case

1 coordination units, and offices of the Department of
2 Human Services.
3 (2) The creation of a stand-alone web page focused on
4 Alzheimer's disease and related dementia disorders. This
5 web page may be hosted on the Departments website, and
6 shall include, at minimum:
7 (A) how and where to access services for
8 individuals under programs administered by State
9 agencies, including links and contact information for
10 the appropriate State agencies;
11 (B) the informational materials developed under
12 paragraph (1) of this Section; and
13 (C) an identifiable and simple URL that can be
14 referenced on written materials.
15 The Department, the Department on Aging, the Department of
16Healthcare and Family Services, and the Department of Human
17Services shall post informational materials relating to the
18available services for individuals, regardless of age, with
19Alzheimer's disease and related dementia disorders, or links to
20this information, on the websites of each respective agency.".
