AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3027
AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3027 on page 2, by
replacing lines 4 through 18 with the following:
""Volunteer emergency worker" means a person who:
(1) serves, on other than a full-time career basis, as
a member of a fire department of (i) a fire protection
district, (ii) a municipality, or (iii) another unit of
government; or
(2) meets all of the following criteria:
(A) the person is licensed under the Emergency
Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act as an Emergency
Medical Responder (EMR) (First Responder), an
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), an Emergency
Medical Technician-Intermediate (EMT-I), an Advanced
Emergency Medical Responder (A-EMT), a Paramedic
(EMT-P), or a volunteer ambulance driver or attendant;
and
(B) the person serves, on other than a full-time

career basis, for a fire department, a fire protection
district, or a volunteer EMS provider.
"Volunteer EMS provider" has the meaning given to that
term in Section 1-220 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.".
