1 | AN ACT concerning regulation.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| |||||||||||||||||||
4 | Section 5. The Meat and Poultry Inspection Act is amended | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | by changing Section 8 as follows:

7 | Sec. 8. Medical
Certificate.
The
The licensee of a Type I | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | establishment shall require all
employees in his establishment | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | to meet
the health requirements established by the Illinois | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | Department of Public
Health. The Director may at any time | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | require an employee of an
establishment to submit to a health | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | examination by a physician. No person
suffering from any | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | communicable disease, including any communicable skin
disease, | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | and no person with infected wounds, and no person who is a
| |||||||||||||||||||
15 | "carrier" of a communicable disease shall work in any
capacity | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | in an
establishment. No person shall work or be employed in or | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | about any
establishment during the time in which a communicable | |||||||||||||||||||
18 | disease exists in the
home in which such person resides unless | |||||||||||||||||||
19 | such person has obtained a
certificate from the state or local | |||||||||||||||||||
20 | health authority to the effect that no
danger of public | |||||||||||||||||||
21 | contagion or infection or adulteration of product will
result | |||||||||||||||||||
22 | from the employment of
such person in such establishment. | |||||||||||||||||||
