Bill Title: Amends the Procurement of Domestic Products Act. Provides that all motor vehicles purchased or leased for one year or more by a State agency shall have a Vehicle Identification Number that begins with the number one, the number 2, the number 4, or the number 5. Effective July 1, 2017.

| 1 | AN ACT concerning finance.
| ||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Procurement of Domestic Products Act is | ||||||
| 5 | amended by adding Section 35 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (30 ILCS 517/35 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 35. North American-made vehicles. All motor
vehicles | ||||||
| 8 | purchased or leased for one year or more by a State agency, on | ||||||
| 9 | or
after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th
| ||||||
| 10 | General Assembly, shall have a Vehicle Identification Number
| ||||||
| 11 | that begins with the number one, the number 2, the number 4, or
| ||||||
| 12 | the number 5. Nothing in this Section shall require a State
| ||||||
| 13 | agency to stop using any vehicle that exists in the State fleet
| ||||||
| 14 | of motor vehicles on the effective date of this amendatory Act
| ||||||
| 15 | of the 100th General Assembly.

| 16 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, | ||||||
| 17 | 2017.
