1 AN ACT concerning safety.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by
5changing Section 9.2 as follows:
6 (415 ILCS 5/9.2) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 1009.2)
7 Sec. 9.2. Sulfur dioxide emission standards.
8 (a) (Blank.)
9 (b) In granting any alternative emission standard or
10variance relating to sulfur dioxide emissions from a
11coal-burning stationary source, the the Board may require the
12use of Illinois coal as a condition of such alternative
13standard or variance, provided that the Board determines that
14Illinois coal of the proper quality is available and
15competitive in price; such determination shall include
16consideration of the cost of pollution control equipment and
17the economic impact on the Illinois coal mining industry.
