AN ACT concerning regulation.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Clinical Social Work and Social Work
Practice Act is amended by changing Section 13.2 as follows:

Sec. 13.2. Fee waivers.
(a) As used in this Section, "rural county" means a county
not part of a metropolitan statistical area, as defined by the
United States Census Bureau, or a county that is part of a
metropolitan statistical area but has a population fewer than
60,000.
(b) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary,
during State fiscal years 2025 and 2026 2022, 2023, and 2024,
the Department shall allow individuals in rural counties a
one-time waiver of fees imposed under subsection (a) of
Section 11 or Section 7, 9, 9A, 12.5, or 13 of this Act. No
individual may benefit from such waiver more than once.

Section 10. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by
changing Section 9.1 as follows:

(a) As used in this Section, "rural county" means a county
not part of a metropolitan statistical area, as defined by the
United States Census Bureau, or a county that is part of a
metropolitan statistical area but has a population fewer than
60,000.
(b) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary,
during State fiscal years 2025 and 2026 2022, 2023, and 2024,
the Department shall allow individuals in rural counties a
one-time waiver of fees imposed under Section 9, 19, or 21 of
this Act. No individual may benefit from such waiver more than
once.

Section 15. The Nurse Practice Act is amended by changing
Section 50-27 as follows:

Sec. 50-27. Fee waivers.
(a) As used in this Section, "rural county" means a county
not part of a metropolitan statistical area, as defined by the
United States Census Bureau, or a county that is part of a

metropolitan statistical area but has a population fewer than
60,000.
(b) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary,
during State fiscal years 2025 and 2026 2022, 2023, and 2024,
the Department shall allow individuals in rural counties a
one-time waiver of fees imposed under Section 50-26, 55-10,
55-11, 55-15, 60-10, 60-11, 60-20, 65-5, 65-15, or 70-45 of
this Act. No individual may benefit from such waiver more than
once.

Section 20. The Pharmacy Practice Act is amended by
changing Section 27.1 as follows:

not part of a metropolitan statistical area, as defined by the
United States Census Bureau, or a county that is part of a

(b) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary,
during State fiscal years 2025 and 2026 2022, 2023, and 2024,
the Department shall allow individuals in rural counties a
one-time waiver of fees imposed under Section 7, 8, 9, 9.5, or

27 of this Act. No individual may benefit from such waiver more
than once.

Section 25. The Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987
is amended by changing Section 14.2 as follows:

(a) As used in this Section, "rural county" means a county
not part of a metropolitan statistical area, as defined by the
United States Census Bureau, or a county that is part of a
metropolitan statistical area but has a population fewer than
60,000.
(b) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary,
during State fiscal years 2025 and 2026 2022, 2023, and 2024,
the Department shall allow individuals in rural counties a
one-time waiver of fees imposed under Section 9, 14.1, 15, or
16 of this Act. No individual may benefit from such waiver more
than once.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
