SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
305 ILCS 5/12-4.13e new

Amends the Administration Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that all foster families shall automatically qualify for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits regardless of income, subject to federal approval if required. 1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5adding Section 12-4.13e as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/12-4.13e new)
7 Sec. 12-4.13e. Foster care families; SNAP eligibility.
8Subject to federal approval if required, all foster families
9shall automatically qualify for Supplemental Nutrition
10Assistance Program benefits regardless of income. The
11Department of Human Services shall apply for any federal
12waivers or approvals necessary to implement this Section.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.
