Amends the Urban Renewal Consolidation Act of 1961. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning a municipal department of urban renewal.

1 AN ACT concerning urban problems.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Urban Renewal Consolidation Act of 1961 is
5amended by changing Section 4 as follows:
6 (315 ILCS 30/4) (from Ch. 67 1/2, par. 91.104)
7 Sec. 4. The The governing body of any municipality having
8more than 500,000 inhabitants, as determined by the last
9preceding Federal census, and in which there exist both a land
10clearance commission and a conservation board, by ordinance
11adopted by a majority of its members, may determine that there
12is need to consolidate the functions of the land clearance
13commission and of the conservation board in a single body and
14provide for the creation of a Department of Urban Renewal to
15operate within the boundaries of such municipality pursuant to
16the provisions of this Act.
