Bill Title: Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. Provides that any member of the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining to a firearm must be able to produce proof, upon request, that he or she has completed: (1) the firearm training requirements under the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004; (2) range safety officer training; and (3) a basic knowledge test of calibers and gauges of firearms.

Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The General Assembly Operations Act is amended
5by adding Section 13 as follows:

7 Sec. 13. Firearm legislation; requirements. Any member of
8the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining
9to a firearm must be able to produce proof, upon request, that
10he or she has completed: (1) the firearm training requirements
11under Section 35-40 of the Private Detective, Private Alarm,
12Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of
132004; (2) range safety officer training; and (3) a basic
14knowledge test of calibers and gauges of firearms.
