1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Act is
5 amended by adding Section 53 as follows:
6 (70 ILCS 3605/53 new)
7 Sec. 53. Emergency protocols. Within 6 months after the
8 effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General
9 Assembly, the Board must develop written protocols to respond
10 to medical and sanitation emergencies and to other safety
11 hazards.
12 Section 10. The Regional Transportation Authority Act is
13 amended by adding Sections 3A.17 and 3B.16 as follows:
14 (70 ILCS 3615/3A.17 new)
15 Sec. 3A.17. Emergency protocols. Within 6 months after the
16 effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General
17 Assembly, the Suburban Bus Board must develop written protocols
18 to respond to medical and sanitation emergencies and to other
19 safety hazards.

1 Sec. 3B.16. Emergency protocols. Within 6 months after the
2 effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General
3 Assembly, the Commuter Rail Board must develop written
4 protocols to respond to medical and sanitation emergencies and
5 to other safety hazards.
6 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
