Bill Title: Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that child care facilities, within the facilities' discretion, may accept a sincerely held religious exemption to a specific vaccination from an employee if the employee presents to the employer a signed statement of objection, detailing the grounds for the sincerely held objection. Effective immediately.

1 | AN ACT concerning regulation.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | changing Section 4.6 as follows:

6 | (225 ILCS 10/4.6) | |||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 4.6. Vaccination requirements for employees. No | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | person may be employed by a child care facility that cares for | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | children ages 6 and under unless that person shows proof of | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | having received: (i) one dose of the Tdap (tetanus, | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccine; and (ii) 2 doses of the | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine or shows proof of | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | immunity to MMR. Child care facilities, within the facilities' | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | discretion, may accept a sincerely held religious exemption to | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | a specific vaccination from an employee if the employee | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | presents to the employer a signed statement of objection, | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | detailing the grounds for the sincerely held objection.
