Bill Title: Amends the Department of Professional Regulation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation shall not require criminal background information in instances where the Department has already stated that the criminal background information cannot be used against an applicant for licensure under the relevant licensing Act.

AN ACT concerning State government.
| ||||
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||
represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||
Section 5. The Department of Professional Regulation Law | ||||
of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by | ||||
adding Section 2105-180 as follows:

(20 ILCS 2105/2105-180 new) | ||||
Sec. 2105-180. Licensure; background checks. The | ||||
Department shall not require self-disclosure of criminal | ||||
background information in instances where the Department has | ||||
already stated that the criminal background information cannot | ||||
be used against an applicant for licensure under the relevant | ||||
licensing Act.
