Bill Title: Amends the Administration Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Requires the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, in consultation with the Department of Human Services, to submit the necessary application to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to amend the State's home and community-based services waiver programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities to provide coverage under the Home-Based Services Program for any therapeutic recreation programs offered by park districts, health clubs, and community colleges.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | adding Section 12-21.22 as follows:

6 | (305 ILCS 5/12-21.22 new) | |||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 12-21.22. Therapeutic recreation waiver services for | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | persons with developmental disabilities. The Department of | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | Healthcare and Family Services, in consultation with the | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | Department of Human Services, shall submit the necessary | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | application to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | Services to amend the State's home and community-based | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | services waiver programs for children and adults with | |||||||||||||||||||
