1 AN ACT concerning finance.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended by
5adding Section 25-90 as follows:
6 (30 ILCS 500/25-90 new)
7 Sec. 25-90. Taxpayer funded advertisements. Any
8advertisement produced or distributed by or on behalf of a
9State agency using taxpayer funds, in whole or in part, shall
10contain a statement specifying that such advertisement was
11purchased using taxpayer funds. For the purposes of this
12Section, "advertisement" means any written, oral, or
13electronic communication that contains a promotion,
14inducement, or offer concerning a State agency, including, but
15not limited to, brochures, pamphlets, radio and television
16scripts, telephone and direct mail solicitations, electronic
17media, billboards, and other means of promotion.
