Bill Title: Amends the Cook County Article of the Illinois Pension Code. AN ACT concerning public employee benefits.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by changing
Section 9-217 as follows:
(40 ILCS 5/9-217) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 9-217)
Sec. 9-217. Attorney. The chief legal officer of the county
shall be the legal advisor of an attorney for the board. If it
shall deem such action necessary for the conservation of the
fund, the board may in its discretion employ an another
attorney for advice or other service in relation to any
particular case or to advise the board in all legal matters.
