1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Banking Act is amended by adding
5Section 45.2 as follows:
6 (205 ILCS 5/45.2 new)
7 Sec. 45.2. Overdraft fees during the COVID-19 pandemic. A
8bank shall not charge overdraft fees on accounts during a
9public health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
10 Section 10. The Savings Bank Act is amended by adding
11Section 7009 as follows:
12 (205 ILCS 205/7009 new)
13 Sec. 7009. Overdraft fees during the COVID-19 pandemic. A
14savings bank shall not charge overdraft fees on deposit
15accounts during a public health emergency caused by the
16COVID-19 pandemic.
