SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
30 ILCS 517/10.5 new

Amends the Procurement of Domestic Products Act. Provides that all vehicles purchased or leased by a State agency must have a Vehicle Identification Number indicating that the vehicle was manufactured in the United States. Effective January 1, 2015.

1 AN ACT concerning finance.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Procurement of Domestic Products Act is
5amended by adding Section 10.5 as follows:
6 (30 ILCS 517/10.5 new)
7 Sec. 10.5. American-made vehicles. All motor vehicles
8purchased or leased by a State agency, or for the use of a
9State agency, on or after the effective date of this amendatory
10Act of the 98th General Assembly shall have a Vehicle
11Identification Number that begins with the number one, the
12number 4, or the number 5.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
