Bill Title: Amends the Metropolitan Transit Authority Act and the Regional Transportation Authority Act. AN ACT concerning local government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Act is
amended by adding Section 54 as follows:

Sec. 54. Automated external defibrillator. No later than 90
days after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the
96th General Assembly, the Board must ensure that all trains
and buses used for public transport have at least one automated
external defibrillator on board. For the purposes of this
Section, "automated external defibrillator" has the meaning
ascribed to that term in Section 10 of the Automated External
Defibrillator Act.
Section 10. The Regional Transportation Authority Act is
amended by adding Sections 3A.18 and 3B.17 as follows:

Sec. 3A.18. Automated external defibrillator. No later
than 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act of
the 96th General Assembly, the Suburban Bus Board must ensure
that all buses used for public transport have at least one

automated external defibrillator on board. For the purposes of
this Section, "automated external defibrillator" has the
meaning ascribed to that term in Section 10 of the Automated
External Defibrillator Act.

Sec. 3B.17. Automated external defibrillator. No later
than 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act of
the 96th General Assembly, the Commuter Rail Board must ensure
that all trains used for public transport have at least one
automated external defibrillator on board. For the purposes of
this Section, "automated external defibrillator" has the
meaning ascribed to that term in Section 10 of the Automated
External Defibrillator Act.
Section 90. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding
Section 8.33 as follows:

Sec. 8.33. Exempt mandate. Notwithstanding Sections 6 and 8
of this Act, no reimbursement by the State is required for the
implementation of any mandate created by this amendatory Act of
the 96th General Assembly.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
