Bill Title: Amends the Park District Code. Provides that a president, vice president, or director of a park district, either appointed or elected, may not be appointed or otherwise serve as the treasurer of that park district. Provides that a president, vice president, or director of a park district who is also the treasurer of that park district on the effective date of the amendatory Act must comply with the provisions of the amendatory Act no later than 90 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
70 ILCS 1205/4-10 new

Amends the Park District Code. Provides that a president, vice president, or director of a park district, either appointed or elected, may not be appointed or otherwise serve as the treasurer of that park district. Provides that a president, vice president, or director of a park district who is also the treasurer of that park district on the effective date of the Act must comply with the provisions of the Act no later than 90 days after the effective date of the Act. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by adding
5Section 4-10 as follows:
6 (70 ILCS 1205/4-10 new)
7 Sec. 4-10. Officials as treasurer.
8 (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a
9president, vice president, or director of a park district,
10either appointed or elected, may not be appointed or otherwise
11serve as the treasurer of that park district.
12 (b) A president, vice president, or director of a park
13district who is also the treasurer of that park district on the
14effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General
15Assembly must comply with subsection (a) no later than 90 days
16after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th
17General Assembly.
18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19becoming law.
