1 | AN ACT concerning education.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | 6-1 as follows:

6 | (105 ILCS 5/6-1) (from Ch. 122, par. 6-1)

7 | Sec. 6-1. Fractional townships of less than 200 persons. | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | Each congressional township is a township for school purposes. | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | When a
fractional congressional township contains fewer than | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | 200 persons under 21
years of age and
and has not heretofore | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | been united with any township for
school purposes it is hereby | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | attached for school purposes to the adjacent
congressional | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | township having the longest territorial line bordering on
such | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | fractional township and all the provisions of this Article | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | shall apply
to such united townships the same as though they | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | were one township. | |||||||||||||||||||
