1 AN ACT concerning finance.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended by
5changing Section 50-1 as follows:
6 (30 ILCS 500/50-1)
7 Sec. 50-1. Purpose. It is the the express duty of all chief
8procurement officers, State purchasing officers, and their
9designees to maximize the value of the expenditure of public
10moneys in procuring goods, services, and contracts for the
11State of Illinois and to act in a manner that maintains the
12integrity and public trust of State government. In discharging
13this duty, they are charged to use all available information,
14reasonable efforts, and reasonable actions to protect,
15safeguard, and maintain the procurement process of the State of
16Illinois.
