1 AN ACT concerning education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by
5changing Section 3-7.24 as follows:
6 (110 ILCS 805/3-7.24) (from Ch. 122, par. 103-7.24)
7 Sec. 3-7.24. Each community college board shall have one
8non-voting member who is a student enrolled in the community
9college under the jurisdiction of the board; however, in
10multi-campus districts, one non-voting student member from
11each campus shall be selected to represent the campus. One
12non-voting student member shall also be selected in
13multi-campus districts to represent all campuses in those
14districts. In multi-campus districts, the campus from which the
15member is selected shall be determined by lot each year
16provided that no campus shall twice have selected a non-voting
17student member until all campuses in the district have once
18been represented on the district board. The same procedure
19shall be followed until all campuses have been represented a
20second time, a third time, and subsequent times. The method of
21selecting these student members shall be determined by
22campus-wide student referendum.
23 The student members shall serve a term of one year

1beginning on April 15 of each year, except that the student
2member initially selected shall serve a term beginning on the
3date of selection and expiring on the next succeeding June 30.
4 The nonvoting student members shall have all of the
5privileges of membership, including the right to make and
6second motions and to attend executive sessions, other than the
7right to vote.
