Bill Title: Amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act. Requires any person who witnesses a sex offense committed against a child, as such sex offenses are defined in the Criminal Code of 1961, to immediately report the offense to the appropriate local law enforcement agency. Effective immediately.

1 | AN ACT concerning children.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act is | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | amended by adding Section 4.6 as follows:

6 | (325 ILCS 5/4.6 new) | |||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 4.6. Sex offense against a child; witness reporting | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | requirement. Any person who witnesses a sex offense committed | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | against a child, as such sex offenses are defined in the | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | Criminal Code of 1961, shall immediately report the offense to | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | the appropriate local law enforcement agency.
