1 AN ACT concerning education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section
530-16.1 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/30-16.1) (from Ch. 122, par. 30-16.1)
7 Sec. 30-16.1. Purpose. The The General Assembly has found
8and hereby declares that it is essential for the national
9defense and for the defense of the State of Illinois that among
10those residents of this State receiving higher education,
11provisions should be made for Reserve Officer's Training Corps
12training, in order to provide officers for the several Armed
13Forces of the United States of America and to that end, that
14scholarships should be furnished to eligible residents, in
15order to encourage their participation in the Reserve Officer's
16Training Corps programs.
