Bill Title: Amends the School Code. Provides that in any investigation conducted by the Department of Children and Family Services concerning an allegation of abuse or neglect of a child by the child's custodial parent or guardian, the principal of the school that the child attends shall provide a Child Protective Investigator with reasonable access to the child for the purpose of interviewing the child at the school without first obtaining the consent of the child's custodial parent or guardian or notifying the custodial parent or guardian of the interview. Amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act. Provides that in any investigation of a report of suspected abuse or neglect of a child by the child's custodial parent or guardian, a Child Protective Investigator must be afforded reasonable access to the child at the child's school for the purpose of interviewing the child at the school without first obtaining the consent of the child's custodial parent or guardian or notifying the custodial parent or guardian of the interview. Effective immediately.

Amends the School Code. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
522-89 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/22-89 new)
7 Sec. 22-89. Child Protective Investigator in-school
8interview. In any investigation conducted by the Department of
9Children and Family Services concerning an allegation of abuse
10or neglect of a child by the child's custodial parent or
11guardian, the principal of the school that the child attends
12shall grant a Child Protective Investigator reasonable access
13to the child for the purpose of interviewing the child at the
14school without first obtaining the consent of the child's
15custodial parent or guardian or notifying the custodial parent
16or guardian of the interview.
17 Section 10. The Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act is
18amended by adding Section 7.5a as follows:

20 Sec. 7.5a. Child Protective Investigator in-school
21interview. In any investigation of a report of suspected abuse
