HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, During the 96th General Assembly, the School
3Success Task Force was established pursuant to House Joint
4Resolution 5 for the purpose of examining issues and making
5recommendations related to current State Board of Education
6policies regarding suspensions, expulsions, and truancies and
7identifying different strategies and approaches, promoting
8professional development and other learning opportunities, and
9supporting community-based organizations and parents; and
10 WHEREAS, Further work is needed on these issues; therefore,
11be it
12 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
14SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the School Success Task Force is
15extended; and be it further
16 RESOLVED, That the School Success Task Force shall submit a
17report, as established in its authorizing resolution, before
18December 31, 2011; and be it further
19 RESOLVED, That with this reporting extension, the School
20Success Task Force shall continue to operate pursuant to its
21enabling resolution.
