2 | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois General
| ||||||
3 | Assembly pays honor and respect to individuals who have given
| ||||||
4 | their lives in service to their communities; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy Sean Riley was | ||||||
6 | killed in the line of duty on December 29, 2021; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Deputy Riley was born to Doug and Mary Jo (Hill) | ||||||
8 | Riley on November 5, 1983; he married Leslie Young on August | ||||||
9 | 11, 2007; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Deputy Riley was a three-year veteran of the | ||||||
11 | Wayne County Sheriff's Department, where he served as both a | ||||||
12 | corrections officer and patrol deputy; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Deputy Riley was preceded in death by his mother, | ||||||
14 | Mary Jo Riley; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Deputy Riley was | ||||||
16 | survived by his wife, Leslie; his children, Logan Brown, | ||||||
17 | Deegan Riley, and Mia Jo Riley; his father, Doug Riley; his | ||||||
18 | sister, Spring (Darrin) Bonney; his mother-in-law, Glenda | ||||||
19 | Young; his sister-in-law, Glenna (Jim) Michael; and several | ||||||
20 | aunts, uncles, cousins, and a special aunt, Margaret (Joe) |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
3 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
4 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate Interstate 64 in | ||||||
5 | Wayne County from Mile Post 112 to 116 as the "Deputy Sean | ||||||
6 | Riley Memorial Highway"; and be it further
| ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation
| ||||||
8 | is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with
| ||||||
9 | State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs
| ||||||
10 | giving notice of the name "Deputy Sean Riley Memorial | ||||||
11 | Highway"; and be it further
| ||||||
12 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
13 | presented to the family of Deputy Riley and the Secretary of | ||||||
14 | Transportation.
