ILCON Art. IV, Sec. 2.5 new

Proposes to amend the Legislature Article of the Illinois Constitution. Prohibits a person from holding the office of State Senator or State Representative, or a combination of those offices, for more than 10 years. Effective upon being declared adopted.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT
3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
5SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the
6electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general
7election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption of
8this resolution a proposition to amend the Illinois
9Constitution by adding Section 2.5 to Article IV as follows:

THE LEGISLATURE

13SECTION 2.5. TERM LIMITS
14 No person may hold the office of State Senator or State
15Representative, or a combination of those offices, for more
16than 10 consecutive years.

SCHEDULE
18 This Constitutional Amendment takes effect upon being
19declared adopted in accordance with Section 7 of the Illinois
20Constitutional Amendment Act.
