HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the American Business
4Club of Springfield on the occasion of its 100th anniversary;
5and
6 WHEREAS, The American Business Club of Springfield is a
7not-for-profit organization tied to National AMBUCS, Inc.,
8where all members are dedicated to inspiring mobility and
9independence for people with disabilities; and
10 WHEREAS, The American Business Club of Springfield is the
11largest AMBUCS chapter in the nation, consisting of 300
12individuals; and
13 WHEREAS, The American Business Club of Springfield has
14operated the concessions at the Illinois State Fair Grandstand
15since 1954, and the organization has also managed admissions
16and parking for the Illinois State Fair since 2004; and
17 WHEREAS, Through its relationship with the State of
18Illinois and other fundraising efforts, the American Business
19Club of Springfield has dedicated tens of thousands of hours
20of community service and donated over $5,000,000 towards
21providing Amtrykes to children, adults, and veterans, endowing

1scholarships for therapists, awarding grants to dozens of
2local community organizations, and providing support to
3numerous other deserving projects at the local, state, and
4national level; and
5 WHEREAS, The American Business Club of Springfield,
6chartered on January 10, 1925, will be celebrating its l00th
7year on January 10, 2025; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
9HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we congratulate the American Business Club of Springfield on
11the occasion of its 100th anniversary, and we commend the
12organization for its accomplishments, unequaled charitable
13giving, and the selfless contributions of its members; and be
