| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to honor the student team from West | ||||||
| 4 | Chicago Community High School for receiving first place in the | ||||||
| 5 | Stock Market Game (SMG) program fall 2008 session; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Illinois Council on Economic Education (ICEE) | ||||||
| 7 | has coordinated The Stock Market Game program for Illinois | ||||||
| 8 | teachers and their students for the past 19 years, reaching | ||||||
| 9 | over 450,000 students; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Students who participate in The Stock Market Game | ||||||
| 11 | Program learn more than investing, they learn core academic | ||||||
| 12 | concepts and skills that can help them succeed in the classroom | ||||||
| 13 | and in life; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, There were 14,000 students participating in the | ||||||
| 15 | fall session; with the large number of participants, finishing | ||||||
| 16 | with a top performing portfolio is proof of a winning team; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, The team from West Chicago Community High School | ||||||
| 18 | is made up of students Kelly Nottingham, Anna Lane, Michelle | ||||||
| 19 | Memoli, and Samantha San Miguel; the team's teacher and sponsor | ||||||
| 20 | is Donald Zabelin; therefore, be it

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 2 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 3 | congratulate the West Chicago Community High School team on | ||||||
| 4 | doing so well on The Stock Market Game Program; and be it | ||||||
