| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Leadership Council | ||||||
| 4 | Southwestern Illinois on the occasion of its 40th anniversary; | ||||||
| 5 | and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois was | ||||||
| 7 | chartered in 1983; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, The Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois | ||||||
| 9 | serves over 230 members who are leaders in industry, | ||||||
| 10 | education, military interests, and government throughout | ||||||
| 11 | Southwestern Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois | ||||||
| 13 | serves as a uniting entity for institutions throughout the | ||||||
| 14 | Metro East, covering the counties of Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, | ||||||
| 15 | Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, St. Clair, and Washington; | ||||||
| 16 | and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, The Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois | ||||||
| 18 | helps unify the region for growth by taking an active role in | ||||||
| 19 | promoting the general welfare, economic development, and image | ||||||
| 20 | of Southwestern Illinois through efforts led by its nine | ||||||
| 21 | committees, which include Economic Development, Military | ||||||

| 1 | Affairs, Public Policy, Southwestern Illinois Transportation | ||||||
| 2 | Enhancement, Levee Issues Alliance, Membership Communications, | ||||||
| 3 | Education, Agriculture, and Workforce Development; and

| 4 | WHEREAS, The Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois | ||||||
| 5 | boasts many accomplishments in support of the region, | ||||||
| 6 | including the reaccreditation of the Southwestern Illinois | ||||||
| 7 | Levee System, receiving three Abilene Trophies for building a | ||||||
| 8 | strong and vibrant community surrounding Scott Air Force Base, | ||||||
| 9 | catalyzing economic growth through a regional development | ||||||
| 10 | plan, and leading numerous major infrastructure projects, | ||||||
| 11 | including major river bridge improvements in the last decade; | ||||||
| 12 | therefore, be it

| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 14 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we congratulate the Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois | ||||||
| 16 | on its 40th anniversary, and we wish the council continued | ||||||
| 17 | success in uniting the region for growth for many years to | ||||||
| 18 | come; and be it further

| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to the Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois as | ||||||
