1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Former First Lady Patricia Blagojevich introduced | ||||||
3 | the Wildflowers for Illinois program in 2003 as part of a | ||||||
4 | larger State Beautification Initiative; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, The multi-million dollar program included | ||||||
6 | road-side signage crediting the former First Lady; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, In January of 2009, Governor Blagojevich was | ||||||
8 | impeached and removed from office; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Immediately upon his removal from office, the | ||||||
10 | State of Illinois began removing his name from signs across the | ||||||
11 | State; therefore, be it

12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
13 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
14 | urge the Illinois Department of Transportation to remove all | ||||||
15 | signs bearing the name of Patricia Blagojevich from the | ||||||
16 | road-sides of this State over the next year; and be it further

17 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be given | ||||||
18 | to the Office of the Governor and the Secretary of the Illinois | ||||||
19 | Department of Transportation.
