| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Human life should be cherished and protected from | ||||||
3 | conception to a natural
death, and adoption should always be | ||||||
4 | the first alternative to keeping a newborn child; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Many Americans are morally opposed to abortions | ||||||
6 | and to taxpayer money
subsidizing any organization that | ||||||
7 | performs abortions; the use of aborted human tissue for | ||||||
8 | research is
morally abhorrent and should cease immediately; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Planned Parenthood performed 323,999 abortions in | ||||||
10 | 2014 in the United States; it has sent
millions of dollars | ||||||
11 | overseas with little accountability in the form of grants; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Planned Parenthood performs abortions while being | ||||||
13 | subsidized by taxpayer
dollars; Planned Parenthood
| ||||||
14 | overwhelmingly refers expecting women to abortions rather than | ||||||
15 | adoptions; Planned
Parenthood has also profited from providing | ||||||
16 | aborted baby parts and tissue to places of research; therefore, | ||||||
17 | be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
19 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
20 | urge the United States Congress to defund Planned Parenthood; | ||||||
21 | and be it further
