HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James
Michael Sauter, who passed away on March 29, 2013; and
WHEREAS, James Sauter grew up in the south suburbs of
Chicago and was a resident of Vernon Hills; he attended
Richards High School, where he played football and baseball;
and
WHEREAS, James Sauter served with pride as an Illinois
State Trooper; he had just completed a temporary assignment in
the state police air operations and was recently assigned to
District 15, which covers the tollways; as a cadet, he was
awarded the Lifesaving Medal in October of 2008 for his actions
in saving the life of a woman in a motorcycle accident; and
WHEREAS, James Sauter was a member of the Illinois
Fraternal Order of Police; and
WHEREAS, James Sauter was the beloved husband of Elizabeth;
the son of Donald and Eileen; the brother of Matthew; the
grandson of Mary Lou Sauter; the son-in-law of Robert and
Christine Cowan; the brother-in-law of Rebecca (Anthony)
Ferraro; and the nephew of Kathleen (Gary) Stevens, Patricia

Duffin, Maureen (Robert) Curran, and Anne (Paul) Oles;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
James Michael Sauter; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of James Sauter as an expression of our
sympathy.
