| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives wish | ||||||
| 3 | to congratulate UA Local 101 on its 125th anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, UA Local 101 was chartered by ten men, including | ||||||
| 5 | eight plumbers, one steamfitter, and one gasfitter, on August | ||||||
| 6 | 17, 1898; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Today, UA Local 101 has a membership of over 300 | ||||||
| 8 | and a workforce of more than 250; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, UA Local 101 members include plumbers, who | ||||||
| 10 | protect the health of the people and endeavor to keep their | ||||||
| 11 | trade going on as they continue to train and grow their | ||||||
| 12 | membership; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, UA Local 101 members also include pipefitters and | ||||||
| 14 | HVAC service technicians, who build and service work in | ||||||
| 15 | residential, commercial, and industrial structures; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, UA Local 101's jurisdiction includes parts of | ||||||
| 17 | five counties and 50 cities in the Metro East area of southern | ||||||
| 18 | Illinois; it also has jurisdiction over Scott Air Force Base | ||||||
| 19 | and the joint use Mid-America Airport; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, UA Local 101 has enjoyed developing and | ||||||
| 2 | maintaining a partnership and relationship with the | ||||||
| 3 | surrounding communities, with members eagerly giving back to | ||||||
| 4 | those communities when they can; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, UA Local 101 has previously worked with the | ||||||
| 6 | Boeing Company on its new manufacturing plant for refueling | ||||||
| 7 | drones for the U.S. Navy; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, UA Local 101 members are proud of the work they do | ||||||
| 9 | and enjoy a standard of living that is second to none, | ||||||
| 10 | receiving pension and health and welfare benefits, which makes | ||||||
| 11 | it possible for members to live full lives and eventually | ||||||
| 12 | retire on their terms; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, UA Local 101 members live, work, and give back to | ||||||
| 14 | the community the benefits they receive with pride and | ||||||
| 15 | gratitude; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, UA Local 101 members look forward to another 125 | ||||||
| 17 | years in providing the construction and service needs of the | ||||||
| 18 | communities they serve; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 20 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 21 | we congratulate UA Local 101 on its 125th anniversary; and be | ||||||
