2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Earl | ||||||
4 | Bryan Kirk of West Frankfort, who passed away on April 28, | ||||||
5 | 2009; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Earl Kirk was born on January 30, 1926 in West | ||||||
7 | Frankfort; his parents were William and Anna (Wilson) Kirk; he | ||||||
8 | married Eva Miskowsky on September 11, 1948; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Earl Kirk attended Ezra Grade School, Frankfort | ||||||
10 | Community High School, Southern Illinois University, and | ||||||
11 | Lockyear Business College in Evansville, Indiana; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Earl Kirk served his country with pride and | ||||||
13 | distinction as a member of the United States Army during World | ||||||
14 | War II; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Earl Kirk worked as a coal miner for 38 years | ||||||
16 | until his retirement; he worked at Old Ben 15, Freeman 3, 4, | ||||||
17 | and 5, and Carlsbad Potash Mine; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Earl Kirk was a member of the Southern Illinois | ||||||
19 | Center for Independent Living (Blind), the Lions Club of West | ||||||
20 | Frankfort, the Franklin-Williamson Human Services Board, the |

1 | Salvation Army board, the WF Pool Community, the American | ||||||
2 | Legion Post 1961 of Orient, the Illinois Council of the Blind | ||||||
3 | in Springfield, and the United Mine Workers of America; he was | ||||||
4 | also crowned Old King Coal in 2008; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Earl Kirk was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
6 | his sister, Daisy Gass; and his brother, Glenn Kirk; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Earl Kirk is survived by his wife, Eva Kirk; his | ||||||
8 | daughter, Debbie and her husband, Kevin Kinley; his son, George | ||||||
9 | Kirk; his sisters, Alma Prusaczyk, Margaret Jackson, and Karen | ||||||
10 | Johnson; his brother, Bill and his wife, Josie Kirk; his | ||||||
11 | grandsons, Tyson and his wife Melissa Moore, and Kyle Kinley; | ||||||
12 | his great-granddaughter, Isabel Faith Moore; and his several | ||||||
13 | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
15 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
16 | mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Earl | ||||||
17 | Bryan Kirk; and be it further
| ||||||
18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Earl Kirk as an expression of our | ||||||
20 | sympathy.
