1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, During these final weeks of the Spring 2009

6 | red ink; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Planned Parenthood, the alleged not-for-profit
8 | abortion business, in fiscal year 2007, brought in $1.0179
9 | billion in gross revenue and, according to the Planned
10 | Parenthood Federation of America's Annual Report for
11 | 2006-2007, of that nearly $1.02 billion, $336.7 million came

| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, In the State of Illinois, taxpayers have provided
15 | over $25 million in funding to Planned Parenthood over the past

| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Whatever one's views on abortion, the fact remains
18 | that the government, while trying to regain a steady financial
19 | foothold, should focus on providing financial assistance for
20 | basic, vital healthcare needs to those who need it most and
21 | that will affect the most citizens, not subsidizing a
22 | controversial operation that has no problem raising money on |
| |||||||
| |||||||
1 | its own accord; therefore, be it
| ||||||
2 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4 | the State of Illinois discontinue State funding of Planned
5 | Parenthood and to more prudently spend our precious tax dollars
6 | by helping to pay our current healthcare obligations and to
7 | provide healthcare for all Illinoisans.
