HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to recognize the significant
contributions that the ministry of Pastor Shaun Lewis has made
to the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lewis was born and raised in Peoria, where
he attended Bethany Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lewis received his Master of Divinity at
The Master's Seminary in Los Angeles; he later settled in
Springfield to minister to Illinois lawmakers and their staff;
and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lewis held weekly Bible studies and was a
frequent guest in both the House and Senate, where he gave the
invocation; he often visited lawmakers in their home districts
and sought earnestly to meet their spiritual needs in and out
of legislative session; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lewis created the Prayer Calendar to ensure
that every lawmaker in both the House and Senate at the State
and federal levels was prayed for once every month; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lewis embodies 1 Timothy 2:1-7; therefore,

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we express our deepest gratitude for the 12 years of ministry
that Pastor Shaun Lewis has given to the General Assembly, and
that we wish him the best in his new pastoral role in the
Peoria area; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to Pastor Lewis as a symbol of our respect and
esteem.
