| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the partners and | ||||||
| 4 | employees of Benford Brown & Associates, LLC (BB&A) on the | ||||||
| 5 | occasion of the firm's 15th anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Benford Brown & Associates is a certified, | ||||||
| 7 | minority, woman-owned CPA firm that provides auditing, | ||||||
| 8 | accounting, and tax and small business consulting services for | ||||||
| 9 | its clients, which include not-for-profit groups, State and | ||||||
| 10 | local governments, higher education, and the professional | ||||||
| 11 | service, mortgage brokerage, and construction industries; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Benford Brown & Associates was founded in late | ||||||
| 13 | 1996 by Alyssia Benford-Lee and Kimi Brown-Ellen; since its | ||||||
| 14 | modest beginning, BB&A has grown exponentially with the | ||||||
| 15 | addition of 3 partners, Timothy S. Watson and Michele D. Simon | ||||||
| 16 | in Chicago and Katrina Battle-Bumpers in Miami, Florida; the | ||||||
| 17 | partners all have an average of 12 years of auditing and | ||||||
| 18 | accounting experience, with half of these years spent with 'Big | ||||||
| 19 | 4' accounting firms in major industries and the other half | ||||||
| 20 | spent either within the internal audit departments or | ||||||
| 21 | accounting departments of Fortune 500 companies; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, The mission of Benford Brown & Associates is to | ||||||

| 1 | provide audit, accounting, tax, and consulting services that | ||||||
| 2 | meet the highest standards within the public accounting | ||||||
| 3 | industry; the firm's partners are committed providing the care | ||||||
| 4 | and attention necessary to help each client manage and grow | ||||||
| 5 | their business and its resources and help each of its clients | ||||||
| 6 | to increase their knowledge of their business and its | ||||||
| 7 | accounting and finance issues; and

| 8 | WHEREAS, Benford Brown & Associates is fully accredited in | ||||||
| 9 | the State of Illinois; its clients include major companies, | ||||||
| 10 | such as the Boeing Corporation and the State Farm Insurance | ||||||
| 11 | Company, as well as many not-for-profit and government | ||||||
| 12 | organizations, such as the City of Chicago, the Illinois | ||||||
| 13 | Department of Human Services, the Independent Living Solutions | ||||||
| 14 | Center, and the H.E.A.R.T. Organization; and

| 15 | WHEREAS, The partners and employees of Benford Brown & | ||||||
| 16 | Associates serve as models of hard work, integrity, and | ||||||
| 17 | dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, | ||||||

| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 20 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 21 | we congratulate the partners and employees of Benford Brown & | ||||||
| 22 | Associates on the occasion of the firm's 15th anniversary and | ||||||
| 23 | wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be | ||||||
