| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Marilyn | ||||||
| 4 | "Jean" Giorgi of Rockford, who passed away on November 1, 2013; | ||||||
| 5 | and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Giorgi was born on October 29, 1927 in | ||||||
| 7 | Chana; her parents were Harry and Reba Wardecker; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Giorgi moved to Rockford when she was in | ||||||
| 9 | the 6th grade; in 1945, she graduated from West High School, | ||||||
| 10 | where she met the love of her life, Amedeo Giorgi; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Giorgi was employed at Rockford Dry Goods | ||||||
| 12 | and Montgomery Ward for many years; she worked at the Salad | ||||||
| 13 | Bowl Restaurant with her family for many years; she was also a | ||||||
| 14 | cook for the Rockford School District at Roosevelt School and a | ||||||
| 15 | manager at the Rockford Housing Authority for 27 years; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Giorgi was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 17 | husband, Amedeo; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Giorgi is survived by her daughters, | ||||||
| 19 | Kimberly Montalbano and Nancy (Raymond) Derksen; her | ||||||
| 20 | granddaughters, Stephanie (Jeff) Lawson, Tracy (Andy) | ||||||

| 1 | Hortatsos, and Tina (Chris) Badciong; her great-grandchildren, | ||||||
| 2 | Alec, Laina, and Cora Hortatsos, Tyler and Brook Badciong, and | ||||||
| 3 | Hanna Lawson; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy (Art) | ||||||
| 4 | Orlandi; her sister-in-law, Josephine Giorgi; her | ||||||
| 5 | brother-in-law, Roland "Gabby" (June) Giorgi; her aunt; and her | ||||||
| 6 | many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 8 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 9 | we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 10 | Marilyn "Jean" Giorgi; and be it further
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to the family of Marilyn Giorgi as an expression of | ||||||
| 13 | our sympathy.
