2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James D. | ||||||
4 | Patton, who passed away on January 28, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, James Patton was a retired colonel in the U.S. | ||||||
6 | Army and a World War II veteran; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, James Patton was retired lieutenant with the | ||||||
8 | Chicago Police Department; at the age of 94, he still worked as | ||||||
9 | office manager of Patton Motor Service; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, James Patton was a member of the Military Officers | ||||||
11 | Association of America; most recently, he was a parishioner at | ||||||
12 | St. Julie Billiart in Tinley Park; before that, he was a | ||||||
13 | parishioner of St. Barnabas Parish in Beverly; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, In 2019, James Patton was honored before a Chicago | ||||||
15 | White Sox game as "Hero of the Day"; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, James Patton was the beloved husband for 71 years | ||||||
17 | of Eileen (Quagliano); the loving father of Kathleen (the late | ||||||
18 | Greg) Gora, Eileen (Michael) Havey, Madonna (the late Ken) | ||||||
19 | Halicki, Maureen (the late Bill) Lash, James (Cookie), Pat | ||||||
20 | (Colleen), John Ret. CFD (Candy) Patton, and Amy (Greg) Preves; |

1 | proud grandfather of 22 and great-grandfather of 22; and uncle | ||||||
2 | of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
4 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
5 | we mourn the passing of James D. Patton and extend our sincere | ||||||
6 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
7 | him; and be it further

8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of James Patton as an expression of our | ||||||
