2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Virginia Smith of | ||||||
4 | Ava on being named the 2016 Miss Rodeo Illinois; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Virginia Smith was crowned Miss Rodeo Illinois on | ||||||
6 | January 17, 2016 at the World Shooting Complex's Seasons Event | ||||||
7 | Center in Sparta; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Virginia Smith will be traveling to rodeo | ||||||
9 | competitions across the State and country as part of her | ||||||
10 | one-year reign as Miss Rodeo Illinois 2016; currently, she is a | ||||||
11 | senior at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she is | ||||||
12 | majoring in agribusiness economics; and

13 | WHEREAS, Virginia Smith is representing the Professional | ||||||
14 | Rodeo Cowboys Association, headquartered in Colorado Springs, | ||||||
15 | Colorado, the world's largest and oldest rodeo-sanctioning | ||||||
16 | body; and

17 | WHEREAS, In addition to appearing at rodeo events across | ||||||
18 | the county, Virginia Smith will be competing for the title of | ||||||
19 | Miss Rodeo America at a week-long pageant in Las Vegas this | ||||||
20 | November; therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
2 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
3 | congratulate Virginia Smith on being named the 2016 Miss Rodeo | ||||||
4 | Illinois and wish her success at the Miss Rodeo America pageant | ||||||
5 | in Las Vegas later this year; and be it further
