| 2 | WHEREAS, William C. "Bill" Gooch Jr. has capably and | ||||||
| 3 | vigorously served the community-banking profession for 60 | ||||||
| 4 | years; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Bill Gooch, seeing a need for a local lender and | ||||||
| 6 | business partner in Elmhurst, IL, founded Community Bank of | ||||||
| 7 | Elmhurst in 1993; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Bill Gooch has been an important partner to many | ||||||
| 9 | Elmhurst civic organizations including, but not limited to, the | ||||||
| 10 | Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Elmhurst Economic | ||||||
| 11 | Development Commission, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, and | ||||||
| 12 | Elmhurst College; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Bill Gooch was called upon by then-Illinois | ||||||
| 14 | Governor Jim Thompson to assist in a mission to establish trade | ||||||
| 15 | pacts with Eastern European locales; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Bill Gooch was called upon by then-Illinois | ||||||
| 17 | Commissioner of Banks and Trust Companies William C. Harris to | ||||||
| 18 | serve on a task force to assist the State of Israel in | ||||||
| 19 | restructuring its financial system; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Bill Gooch has contributed to the economic | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | vitality of the City of Elmhurst especially with his continuing | ||||||
| 2 | dedication to fulfilling the credit needs of citizens in the | ||||||
| 3 | Elmhurst area; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Bill Gooch is an active member of the Community | ||||||
| 5 | Bankers Association of Illinois and is dedicated to CBAI's | ||||||
| 6 | mission of keeping community banks competitive for the benefit | ||||||
| 7 | of their customers and the communities they serve through | ||||||
| 8 | delivery of quality education, effective representation, and | ||||||
| 9 | essential products and services; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 11 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 12 | congratulate Bill Gooch on his 60th anniversary in the banking | ||||||
| 13 | profession, and we wish him many more wonderful years; and be | ||||||
| 14 | it further

| 15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 16 | presented to Bill Gooch as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
