| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Terrence | ||||||
| 4 | Patrick "Terry" Allen who passed away on November 11, 2014; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Terry Allen was born in Chicago on April 14, 1960 | ||||||
| 6 | to Thomas and Irene Allen; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Terry Allen grew up on the North Side of Chicago | ||||||
| 8 | with his 5
brothers and 2 sisters; he attended St. Patrick High | ||||||
| 9 | School; his father was active with labor and
politics while | ||||||
| 10 | serving as an Apprentice Coordinator for the
International | ||||||
| 11 | Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (IUBAC) Local 21; | ||||||
| 12 | his
brother, Jim Allen, currently serves as the Business | ||||||
| 13 | Manager of IUBAC Local 21, and his
brother, Tom Allen, serves | ||||||
| 14 | as a judge on the Circuit Court of Cook County; additionally, | ||||||
| 15 | his brother-in-law, Tim Cullerton currently presides as | ||||||
| 16 | Chicago's 38th Ward Alderman; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Terry Allen became a member of the International | ||||||
| 18 | Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers (IBEW) Local 134 in 1981; he | ||||||
| 19 | worked with Newgard Electric, Commercial Light Electric, and
| ||||||
| 20 | Elite Electric before becoming an Electrical Inspector for Cook | ||||||
| 21 | County; following his service
with Cook County, he began | ||||||
| 22 | working directly for IBEW Local 134, first as a Business Agent,
| ||||||

| 1 | then as Vice-President, and finally as Business Manager since | ||||||
| 2 | October of 2011; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Terry Allen was the beloved husband of Jean (nee | ||||||
| 4 | Conrick); the proud father of Billy,
Amanda, and Michael Allen; | ||||||
| 5 | the loving brother of Barbara (John) Wiemhoff, Nancy (Tim)
| ||||||
| 6 | Cullerton, Tom (Jan) Allen, Jim (Lin) Allen, Tim (Mary) Allen, | ||||||
| 7 | Dan (Sue) Allen, and Pat (Laura)
Allen; the brother-in-law of | ||||||
| 8 | Mary Ann (Dan) Jordan, Bill Conrick, Joanne (Dan) Lynch, Tom
| ||||||
| 9 | Conrick, and Cathy (Jay) Ek; and the son-in-law of Bill and | ||||||
| 10 | Camille Conrick; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 12 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 13 | we mourn the passing of Terrence Patrick "Terry" Allen, and | ||||||
| 14 | extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all | ||||||
| 15 | who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to the family of Terry Allen as an expression of our | ||||||
| 18 | deepest sympathy.
