1 | AN ACT concerning education.
| |||||||||||||||||||
2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | changing Section 1 as follows:

7 | Sec. 1.
The
The Board of Trustees of the University of | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | Illinois shall
be a body corporate and politic, and by that | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | name and
style shall have perpetual succession, have power to | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | contract and be
contracted with, to sue and be sued, provided | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | that any suit against the
Board based upon a claim sounding in | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | tort must be filed in the Court of
Claims, to plead and be | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | impleaded, to acquire, hold, and convey real and
personal | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | property; to have and use a common seal, and to alter the same | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | at
pleasure; to make and establish by-laws, and to alter or | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | repeal the same as
they shall deem necessary, for the | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | management or government, in all its
various departments and | |||||||||||||||||||
18 | relations, of the University of Illinois,
for the organization | |||||||||||||||||||
19 | and endowment of which provision is made by this act. | |||||||||||||||||||
